My name is Ralf-Achim Grünther (Acci) — and together with Benita, Maicke, Nikolas and Sophia, I’m very happy to welcome you here.

I’m glad you found your way to this page. My goal is to offer you clear, practical and up-to-date information about the medical fields I work in — and, at the same time, to give you a more personal glimpse into how I think and work.

What this site is about
My main areas of medical practice are:
• Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (both surgical and non-surgical care)
• Technical Orthopaedics (prosthetics and orthotics)
• Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Osteopathy
• Care and rehabilitation after amputation
• Diabetic Foot Syndrome

After more than 40 years in medicine, my current focus is on conservative (non-surgical) treatment of orthopaedic and trauma-related conditions. A particular passion of mine is the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome and amputation surgery — always with one guiding principle in mind: to prevent amputations whenever possible.

Beyond clinical treatment, I support people through rehabilitation after amputation, help coordinate prosthetic and orthotic care, and I’m actively involved with patient self-help groups. Until 2025, I also served as the Scientific Chair of the BMAB (the German Association for People with Arm or Leg Amputation).
